I am often asked what it means to be the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi. People who are unfamiliar with Sigma Chi and the men who belong to it think that it's merely some sort of pageant title. They could not be more wrong. To me, being Sweetheart means that I have the privilege of being associated with the most outstanding group of men that I have ever met. Their strong brotherhood and dedication to the fraternity enable them to be leaders not only in the Greek system but on campus and in the community as well. Derby Days, their annual philanthropy event, is one of the most successful fundraisers on campus and a favourite of the sororities who compete in a variety of events to see who can raise the most money for Children's Hospital. 

And while the Sigma Chis are absolutely unrivalled in their commitment to scholarship and their aims of friendship, justice and learning they aren't afraid to have fun! Their barbecues and parties are always popular and girls love getting an invite to the annual Sweetheart Ball - the classiest formal on campus. The sororities play lots of co-ed sports with the Sigma Chis and you can always find a big crowd of guys and girls out cheering on their competitive sports teams.

As the Sweetheart of Sigma Chi I have had the opportunity to get involved in some of the best events on campus but more importantly, I have made friendships that will last a lifetime with men that I admire and respect. Sigma Chi is much more than a fraternity and the men of Sigma Chi are truly like brothers to one another and to me, and I cannot imagine what my experience at UBC would have been like without them! I love you guys!

Favourite Music: Top 40 and pop - I have horrible taste in music!
Favourite Sigma Chi event: Sweetheart Ball of course but Derby Days is a close second!
Interests: Singing, dancing, acting and doing summer activities like rollerblading and playing tennis.
Future Plans: To work as an editor at a magazine or in broadcast journalism.
