"Men join fraternities... leaders of men join Sigma Chi"

Sigma Chi : Leaders of Men Since 1855

Welcome!

One of the first things I want to do is to let you know that you are more than welcome to come by any one of our rush events during the month of September, which is one of the most memorable months for any brother! Rush runs for nearly all of September, but flies by every year with the packed schedule of sporting events, parties, philanthropy at Derby Days and of course school. Rush will give you a great opportunity to meet the fraternity members, other rushees, the great sorority women we are friends with, as well as learn about Greek life, the opportunities, and potential that we can help you reach, all of which that has made our university experience as amazing as it is.

When I rushed, Sigma Chi was the choice for me. Our chapter clearly differentiates themselves from the crowd by being the premier leadership organization on campus and in the Greek system. Naturally this means that when we recruit we are looking for those who have shown leadership experience and potential, but it also means that our fraternity is designed to help develop each Sig into the best leader, and person they can be. Our membership counts among us the AMS president, student senators, members of UBC’s board of Governors, Presidents of undergraduate societies, campus clubs and the Order of Omega Greek honour society. Sigma Chi’s are respected not simply for being fine men, but for being men with ambition.

Apart from leadership, Sigma Chi had the most varied and valuable experiences to offer me. Our Derby Days philanthropy is the largest of any student group at UBC, raising well over 10 thousand dollars for BC Children's Hospital annually. Our scholarship program is innovative, and effective- ensuring our brothers study hard and play hard. And speaking of partying- Sigma Chi has one of the most vibrant social calendars on campus. Whether we're throwing one of our legendary house parties such as the Welcome Back Toga Party, and the infamous Sigma Chi Booty Camp (a military themed party which is one of the largest, and most elaborate fraternity parties of the year)- or attending any of our eagerly anticipated weekly exchanges with UBC's phenomenal sorority women, everybody knows that Sigma Chi's know how to have a good time.

Hot Rush Hostesses

There is so much more I could tell you about what it is to be a Sigma Chi. Hopefully we'll have the chance to talk about it face to face. Check out the open recruitment dates below, but feel free to drop by the house any time or give me a call, text or email- you'll find Sigs are always welcoming, and our home is a great place to be. Being a Sigma Chi has enriched my life- and I have confidence that every man lucky enough to receive a bid feels the same way. So congratulations, you've taken the first step. Now take the second and come visit us!

Cheers,

Drew Gamble
