DONATE ONLINE HERE TO BC CHILDREN'S HOSPITAL

Derby Days is a philanthropic event that mobilizes UBC's greek community through two weeks of events that benefit cystic fibrosis research and the BC Children’s Hospital. Derby Days is facilitated by Sigma Chi, a leadership focused fraternity at UBC. One hundred percent of proceeds (almost $50 000 since 1995) are donated to our two causes. You can find an event list here. To find out more about Sigma Chi Derby Days and donation options below.

Why Derby Days?
Sigma Chi has produced some of North America’s most prominent leaders. For example, Ted Rogers, former CEO of Rogers Telecommunications or James S. Brady, former Press Secretary to President Reagan. These men began their professional careers as Sigma Chi undergraduates, benefitting from our organization’s programs. Derby Days is an example of our leadership training methods: undergraduates lead teams that compete to raise the most money. Student leaders build team and social skills that are integral to success after leaving university. Your donation to Derby Days not only supports both the BC Children’s Hospital and cystic fibrosis research but also supports the development of over one-hundred undergraduate students.

The causes.
Cystic fibrosis kills more teenagers and young adults in Canada than any other disease. It leaves most who have it with a life span of less than 30 years.

The BC Children’s Hospital needs funding for its ongoing operations. Their facility is very expensive to operate, your donation may allow one more child to be treated this year.

How to donate?
Donation is easy, click above to donate directly to the BC Children’s Hospital or send a check made out to the Delta Omicron Society to the address above. The BC Children’s Hospital can issue tax receipts for online donations or donations made via check.

Sincerely,
Peter Fitzpatrick & Michael Cooper, Derby Days Co-Chairs
